Operations workflows for yoga studio owners

Yoga studios,
fine-tuned.

Satya Studio Works installs the operational workflows a great studio manager actually runs — the exact sequences for marketing, sales, retail, and retention, including the parts that usually live only in someone's head.

The feeling

You can feel it.
You just can't quite see it.

Most independent studios are running on intuition and a handful of disconnected dashboards. You know something is leaking — you just can't tell where.

The 6am class feels half-full — but you can't tell whether it's losing money, or quietly anchoring your regulars.

Thirty people a month walk in on the intro offer. You don't know how many become members. You don't know which channel sent them.

You're working harder than ever. Schedule is fuller. Margins haven't moved. Something is leaking — and you can't see where.

You're not flying badly. You're flying without instruments.

Who's tuning it

A quant who ran the floor.
A consultant who mapped it.

We met at HAUM — one of us modeling the business like a portfolio, one of us brought in to diagnose how it actually ran. Satya is what we built when institutional-grade analysis and a working operator's eye started solving the same problem together.

Co-founder
Amelia Rice Franklin
Quantitative Systems & Operations

A quantitative analyst at Franklin Templeton Investments, where she built optimizers, prediction algorithms, and risk-management systems for multi-billion-dollar 401(k), pension, and sovereign wealth portfolios — the discipline of modeling allocation, risk, and rebalancing at institutional scale.

At HAUM she was the Operations Manager, pointing that same rigor at a single studio — running it day to day and rebuilding its operating system: a new management structure, a full tech-stack migration, and the custom reporting that now ships with every Satya engagement.

Co-founder
Sarah Marshall
Consulting & Studio Operations

The consultant brought into HAUM to evaluate the business from the outside in — studying its dynamics and building the training documentation that turned how-it's-done into something the whole team could run.

She brings nearly 8 years of yoga studio operations, top to bottom — front desk to floor lead to Operational Studio Manager & Head of Retail across two locations, winning Best of Marin, the best studio sales on record, and the best employee retention in years. A certified Power Yoga instructor (RYT-200+) with Bikram training to boot and ashtanga experience. She knows the floor she's diagnosing, and understands the niche of the yoga practice you're sharing. Let's solve your problems together.

One of us ran the studio. One of us was hired to see what running it couldn't. Now you get both.

Sarah, on the floor

Nearly eight years learning
where studios actually break.

Before she diagnosed studios for a living, Sarah ran them — front desk to Operational Studio Manager & Head of Retail, two locations, living a pandemic launch. The patterns she now spots in your data, she first learned by living them.

2021 – 2025 · Mill Valley & San Rafael
Operational Studio Manager & Head of Retail
Red Dragon Yoga

Ran day-to-day operations across two high-volume hot-yoga locations — hiring, screening, onboarding and training instructors, front desk, and work-trade staff. Owned membership conversion through coaching and performance tracking, with the best employee retention the studio had seen in years.

Built the retail engine end to end: inventory planning, seasonal merchandising tied to sales trends, and vendor relationships with brands like Beyond Yoga, Manduka, Hardtail Forever, and Spiritual Gangster — driving the best studio sales on record and a Best of Marin win. Ran scheduling, pricing, and memberships in MINDBODY across both studios.

We Yoga Together
Virtual studio, founded at pandemic onset

Built and ran a virtual studio when the doors closed — daily free live-streamed classes, a team of five instructors, groups of ten to fifteen all-level students. Handled scheduling, community communications, platform setup, and instructor coordination.

Track record at HAUM

The receipts.

The operator changes Amelia led at HAUM — the kind that compound into “Best of the Bay.” This is the playbook Satya brings to your studio.

30% membership growth
In 5 months, largest location

Led the largest HAUM location and its sales function during a five-month stretch that added a third of the membership base. Schedule, pricing, intro funnel, and sales sequences all aligned.

30% rent reduction
Negotiated on the largest space

Built the case, ran the numbers, supported the owner through the conversation with the property manager. One change, multi-year impact on margins.

+20% Small Biz Saturday
Year-over-year, restructured campaign

Led a Small Business Saturday campaign that outperformed the previous year's by 20%. Reworked the format, retargeted the audience, sharpened the sequence — same date on the calendar, better engine.

Best retention in company history
Employees, not members

Rewrote training materials into an in-app curriculum for better information retention, streamlined onboarding so management spent less time training and more time coaching.

2 platforms, full stack
Right tool for each audience

Replaced a fragmented tech stack with the right tool for each job — Connecteam for the team (clock-in, training, internal ops) and Walla for clients (booking, payments, member experience). Lower monthly spend, cleaner staff workflow, better customer journey.

The operating system behind the numbers

Created two new management roles (Community/Marketing/Sales and Operations/Finance/Technology) so the owner could stop running every decision. Built custom reporting on class success, revenue timing, and KPIs — templates that now ship with every Satya engagement. Designed and deployed new marketing sequences, workshop targeting from historical data, and a pay-what-you-can membership program.

Not every outcome is hers alone — HAUM is a team and the owner made the calls. But each item above is a project Amelia designed or led end-to-end as Operations Manager, much of it documented into repeatable systems by Sarah's consulting work. The same operating moves are what Satya brings to your studio.

What we install

Six workflows.
Your data tells us which ones to pull first.

Not strategy decks — the exact sequences a great manager runs, including the parts that usually live only in someone's head. A Satya engagement ranks these by leverage; most studios find two of the six are responsible for 70% of the gap.

Marketing & sequences

Campaigns and follow-up sequences — what to send, when, and why. The flows that turn a lead into a first visit.

Sales & conversion

First-visit and conversion scripts, word for word. The desk conversation that turns a drop-in into a member.

Pricing & membership

Tiers, intro offers, and retention flows built from your real numbers — not a borrowed template — and structured to hold past month one.

Retail model

A repeatable retail package: ordering systems, the desk recommendation logic, visual displays, and reorder cadence.

Operations, tech & systems

The backend that runs without the owner in every loop — the right tools, wired together so the studio doesn't depend on heroics.

Analytics & scenario modeling

Bookings, conversion, and trends run on your data with the same optimization and forecasting methods used on institutional portfolios. “What if we raise the monthly $20?” — answered against your cohort, not a hunch.

Six of the twelve levers we work across — hiring & onboarding, teacher training, AV & livestream, and the legal/rent/financing scaffolding round out the full set. We start with the two or three highest-upside levers for your studio.

Three ways to work together

Start small.
Scale if it's working.

Low-friction entry, real ladder up. Independent owners can pay by check, Venmo, or card — no procurement, no enterprise sales process.

What happens next

No pressure.
No surprises.

A three-step process designed for studio owners who'd rather see the work before committing to it.

01

We talk

30 minutes, on Zoom or in person if you're in SF. We want to understand your studio. You want to see if we're worth the price tag.

02

We review

If it makes sense, we look at three of your reports before our next call — free. You see how we think before you spend a dollar.

03

We decide

If the work fits, we start with the Discovery Audit. If it doesn't, no hard feelings. We'll point you somewhere useful.

Start here

One conversation.
No deck. No deliverables.

Just a phone call about your studio — what's working, what isn't, and whether Satya is the right fit. If it isn't, we'll tell you.
